Biography

Training: Mondays and Fridays I go to a separate gym to warm-up with cardio, lift weights, swim and loosen my muscles in the hot tub. Tuesday-Thursday I start out with circuit training, which consists of different cross-fit workouts. Then I do pad work, foot drills along with sparring, Muay Thai and MMA. Wednesday and Thursday is pad work with foot work and drilling. Saturdays I go up to AMC Kirkland and work with Matt & Trevor Jackson. There’s a different group of people up there to push me in other ways than I'm used to during the weekdays. Sundays, Trevor Jackson comes down to AMC Pacific to go over different plans and help improve our footwork. It's more of a brainstorm and blueprint of what to work on for the week.

How did you start fighting? I started training to fight in October of 2005. I was watching the first season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and I liked how they were in shape. I always liked to be healthy, so the training regime intrigued me. Reese Andy was the one who influenced me to sign up with AMC and then it's just taken off from there.

What ranks and titles have you held? Last time I checked I was 31 in the world, but my goal is #1. In my amateur circuit I held 4 different titles. Genesis MMA & Genesis Muay Thai, Rumble on the Ridge, Ax Fighting Championship

Do you have any heroes? Batman, because I grew up watching him and always wanted to be like him.

What was your job before you started fighting? I still work in a warehouse in downtown Tacoma that's a recycling tube plant.

Most memorable professional fight? My most memorable fight would have to be when I fought Jesse Brock in Alaska for AFC 68, because if it weren't for my fight with him I don't think I would be where I am today. The knockout being televised on HDnet I believe is the main reason I'm here with the WEC.
