Biography

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training four years ago to stop getting into trouble.

What ranks and titles have you held?
I’m a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu and have won many grappling tournaments like the Pan Ams.

Do you have any heroes?
I admire anyone who fights to get what they want in life without screwing people over.

What is your favorite technique?
The Superman double wrist lock

What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC?
A chance to fight top level competition and gain national exposure, as well as grow as a fighter.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?
I went for a year but I was just there to play soccer.

What was your job before you started fighting?
I worked for United Cerebral Palsy. I helped children with disabilities on their social behavior.

Most memorable professional fight? My fight with Takaya because it feels like a new chapter in my career.

What was your most challenging professional fight?
My fight with Charlie Valencia because he beat me up for 4 minutes and I was able to come back and TKO him. I had to sit backstage for a few hours just to be able to stand up.

Did you compete in any other sport at college or professional level?
I played soccer my whole life and played in Jr. College but just stopped after that. It's hard to play on a team that doesn’t want it as bad as you.

Who were your training partners for this fight?
Joe Stevenson, Aaron Riley, Clay Guida, Leonard Garcia, Yoshida, Frankie Gomez, etc...

Did you put more emphasis towards a fighting style or adjust your training to prepare for your opponent?
I'm learning more about myself by opening up my game and that will stop all that he's got.

What, other than WINNING, are you using for motivation for the fight?
I have to prove I'm the best in the world. So I need to step it up!

What is your favorite thing about this sport?
Everything about it! I always tell myself I can't complain cause it's an honor to be a part of this sport.

How long do you see yourself staying in this sport?
When I lose the hunger I will quit but I am young and hitting my stride.
