Celebrating Mexican Independence Day

UFC brings an action-packed card to T-Mobile Arena on Mexican Independence Day for the first time ever. It has become a great tradition in combat sports to hold big fights on September 16th, and this year we're honoring our UFC fans and fighters from Mexican communities with an inaugural Noche UFC.

    The Ultimate Fighter

    UFC Hall of Famer Diego Sanchez wins The Ultimate Fighter season one middleweight tournament. Future The Ultimate Fighter winners of Mexican descent include notable names such as Nate Diaz, Tony Ferguson, Kelvin Gastelum, Carla Esparza, and Tatiana Suarez.

    UFC 121: Lesnar vs Velasquez

    Cain Velasquez defeats Brock Lesnar to win the UFC heavyweight title, becoming first Mexican-American heavyweight champion in combat sports history.
  • The Ultimate Fighter - Latin America

    The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America premieres, featuring an all-Mexican team coached by Cain Velasquez. Two members of Team Velasquez (Yair Rodríguez and Alejandro Pérez) go on to win the featherweight and bantamweight tournaments, respectively.

    The first UFC event to be held in Mexico, UFC 180, takes place in Mexico City.
  • UFC 263

    Brandon Moreno defeats flyweight titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo to become the first Mexican-born champion in UFC history.
  • UFC 284 + UFC 285

    Yair Rodríguez defeats Josh Emmett to win the interim UFC featherweight championship at UFC 284. A month later at UFC 285, Alexa Grasso shocks the world and defeats Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC flyweight title, becoming the first female Mexican-born champion in UFC history.

    Noche UFC celebrates Mexican Independence Day, featuring a rematch between Grasso and Shevchenko for the UFC flyweight title, and a stacked card featuring UFC’s top Mexican talent.

Fan Experience

Fans are invited to the first Noche UFC Fan Experience on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Toshiba Plaza.  

Come check out the UFC Champion Tunnel, take a selfie with the UFC Legacy Championship Belt, face-off with your favorite fighter at the UFC Fighter Face-off, and pick up official UFC gear at the UFC Store trailer and more! 

Plus, there will be Athlete Meet & Greets happening from 2p.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 4p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
