Heavyweight contender Cheick Kongo and lightweight standouts Frankie Edgar and Hermes Franca will be back in action on Saturday, August 9th, competing in bouts recently added to the UFC 87: “Seek and Destroy” card at Minnesota’s Target Center.

France’s Kongo will look to rebound from his split decision loss to Heath Herring in March as he takes on UFC newcomer Dan Evensen. The Norway product comes to the Octagon with a 10-2 record that includes four wins in a row, three by knockout.

In an intriguing lightweight matchup, once-beaten New Jersey contender Frankie ‘The Answer’ Edgar will square off against former title challenger Hermes Franca, who will be fighting for the first time in over a year on August 9th.

Also added to UFC 87 - which is headlined by the welterweight title fight between Georges St-Pierre and Jon Fitch, the lightweight showdown between Kenny Florian and Roger Huerta, and a heavyweight bout between hometown hero Brock Lesnar and Heath Herring – are welterweight matchups pitting Chris Wilson against Steve Bruno, and an all-Ultimate Fighter clash between Ben Saunders and Jared Rollins.

Tickets for UFC 87 are on sale now.
