UFC 195: Poirier, Duffy to headline on FIGHT PASS

UFC 195 FIGHT CARD
Before Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit meet for the welterweight championship in the main event of UFC 195 in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 2, UFC FIGHT PASS subscribers will get a main event of their own on the same night when lightweight contenders Dustin Poirier and "Irish" Joe Duffy finally meet in the Octagon.
I've been working my butt off and I'm more focused than ever.  I can't wait to kick this New Year off with the win!” Poirier said.
In addition to the inclusion of this early Fight of the Year candidate, which is expected to have a significant impact on the 155-pound division, the UFC is pleased to offer a $30 discount on a yearly UFC FIGHT PASS membership to any previous subscribers who want to come back to view exclusive events such as this, along with the most comprehensive fight library in mixed martial arts. Forced out of his original meeting with Poirier in Dublin on October 24 due to injury, Duffy is back in the gym and raring to go for his shot at the surging Poirier at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
“This fight has been a long time coming and can’t wait to get in the Octagon and put on a great performance for everyone," Duffy said.
A native of Donegal, the 27-year-old Duffy roared onto the UFC scene in 2015 with back-to-back first-round finishes of Jake Lindsey and Ivan Jorge, the latter bout earning "Irish" Joe Performance of the Night honors. Now, Duffy, who holds a win over countryman Conor McGregor, will face off with Louisiana's Poirier, a longtime 145-pound contender who has found new life in his return to the lightweight division, picking up a pair of Performance of the Night bonuses for his knockouts of Diego Ferreira and Yancy Medeiros.
“As UFC Fight Pass continues to deliver exceptional original content, expanded fight libraries and live cards, we are always looking to provide exceeding value to our fans. Not only will this move serve to satisfy fans who were excited to utilize their Fight Pass subscriptions to watch this highly anticipated fight, but it also will give our growing fan base in Ireland a chance to see one of their own in Joe Duffy, compete at a much earlier hour," said Eric Winter, the UFC Senior Vice President Content & Fight Pass General Manager.
