Santiago vs Ige set for UFC 225

Featherweight Mike Santiago's third trip to the Octagon will undoubtedly be a memorable one, as he will be competing in his hometown of Chicago when he faces Dan Ige in a UFC 225 bout at United Center on June 9.

In the UFC 225 main event, which airs live on Pay-Per-View, Robert Whittaker defends his middleweight title against Yoel Romero. Tickets go on sale on April 13.

Born and raised in Illinois, Santiago has been fighting professionally since 2010, but it was in 2017 when his career was changed forever, as a first-round knockout of Mark Cherico on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series last summer ultimately led him to the UFC. And while he has come up short against Zabit Magomedsharipov and Mads Burnell, the 28-year-old is determined to get the job done in June against Hawaii's Ige, who has won eight of his 10 pro bouts, with six of those victories ending before the final horn.
