Biography

Training: AM Conditioning and standup or groundwork, PM live grappling or sparring. Training is as it always goes 2 to 3 times a day, 6 days a week at MFS in Iowa.

When and why did you start training for fighting? The day I understood what a fight was, I began my journey to become the best.

Do you have any heroes? Those who reach for their dreams.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?  Everything.  I would be lying if I said that this isn't the biggest stage in the world.  On this stage my idols will become my peers, and for that I am grateful.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Went for 2 years, but it was only a band-aid for what I really wanted to do, which is be in the UFC.

What was your job before you started fighting? Construction

Accomplishments in amateur competition?  I once joined the adult division at a Full Contact Kyokushinkai tournament (no gloves, full kicks to the head) and took 1st place by knocking out two 26 year old men.  I was 16 and when they found out my age they tried to take the trophy back.

If any, list ranks in any martial arts styles:  Brown Belt under Pat Miletich, lifelong Kyokushinkai Karate practitioner

Favorite grappling technique:  Triangle Choke

Favorite Striking technique: Superman Punch
