Biography

TRAINING: Morning is Muay Thai/Boxing for two hours, evening is Wrestling/BJJ for two hours.  During the afternoon, I do a strength and conditioning workout, rest and recover.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training over a decade ago. I was always an athlete, and once I discovered that unlike handball, MMA
doesn't issue red cards, I knew I had found my true sport.

What ranks and titles have you held? Invicta FC World Champion. Strikeforce World Champion. 2x IBJJF World Champion. ADCC Bronze Medalist.

Do you have any heroes? Jesus Christ, who died for our sins.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It is an honor to return back to Curitiba and fight for my friends and family, many of whom have not gotten a chance to see me fight live since my first fight over 10 years ago. The fact that it also happens to be in the UFC in front of 50,000 fans will only add to the excitement.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I never finished university; however, it is something I plan to return to once my MMA career is finished. Animals are a passion for me and I think it would be amazing to one day further my knowledge and find a way to work with them.

What was your job before you started fighting? I used to work inside of a pet grooming store.

Ranks in any martial arts styles: Chute Boxe Muay Thai black belt, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt under Andre Galvao of Atos BJJ Team

Favorite grappling technique: Suplex

Favorite Striking technique: Whatever strike finishes with a KO

• Nine first round finishes

• On five-fight winning streak with five KOs in Invicta FC, where she is currently the promotion’s featherweight champion. Has won six straight overall.

• Had 4-0, 1 NC record in Strikeforce

• Owns wins over Gina Carano, Marloes Coenen (twice), Shayna Baszler and Vanessa Porto

• Has finished last 10 wins
