Biography
TRAINING: Training is a combination of strength and conditioning, kickboxing, jiu-jitsu, and MMA. I focus on specific disciplines every day, and nutrition is a big part of my camp.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I have been doing martial arts my whole life since the age of five. My father would push me to train hard everyday. On November 12, 2003 he was killed in a house robbery. I knew from that day I would make him proud and become a professional fighter.
What ranks and titles have you held? WEC lightweight champion, Gladiators Fighting Lightweight Champion. 3rd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Do you have any heroes? My dad, he was killed in a house robbery in 2003 and I still use many of the life lessons he taught me.
What is your favorite technique? I am a very flashy fighter so I like any technique that makes the audience go crazy.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? This is a dream come true. I dedicated my life to making it where I am at and I’m very excited for a long career in the UFC.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes, I went to the fire academy.
What was your job before you started fighting? P.O.C Fire Fighter and Martial Arts Instructor
